It was like, electric between us.

There are two types of touchscreen devices: Resistive and capacitive. Most modern touchscreens are capacitive.

Capacitive touchscreens, contrary to popular belief, are not affected by heat but instead react to natural bioelectricity in your skin. Tiny amounts of moisture, salts and oils on your skin allow electrons to flow between you and your device, thus communicated to the device. When you put something non-conductive between you and your device (like an ordinary pair of gloves), the device won’t work.

So, here's the science behind Agloves:

Agloves' Patent-Pending Technology

Agloves has developed a patent-pending technology that makes them work brilliantly on all touchscreen devices.  Unlike other gloves, Agloves harnesses the body’s natural bioelectricity from the surface of the entire hand by using silver - the most conductive element on the Periodic Table of the Elements.

Bioelectricity refers to the capacitive stored electrical charge occurring within or produced by living organisms such as humans.  The connectivity of this stored electrical charge to the touchscreen is affected by moisture, both environmental and sweat, and salts on the surface of the skin.  (You may have noticed that when your bare fingertip is dry it does not operate your touchscreen)

By knitting silver throughout the entire Aglove, Agloves optimize the bulk resistive properties necessary to provide a consistent and accurate flow of bioelectricity to your device. Furthermore, because silver is knit in all 10 fingers, you get all 10-finger access to tablets, smartphones and touchscreen keyboards.

Ordinary gloves – on the other hand (haha) – don’t work on touchscreens because they are highly resistive, or in other words low-to-non-conductive. Normal gloves block the bioelectric flow from the skin to the device.

Silver is powerful.

Silver is an incredibly powerful metal.  Apart from being the most electrically conductive, silver is also a thermal regulator and reflects heat back to its source.  This means that heat created by your hands is trapped inside the glove, warming your fingers.  Then, heat is naturally moved from the palm of your hand out to the coldest areas (your fingertips)! Agloves are not designed to be winter, ski gloves.  They are not water-proof or bulky.  But they are surprisingly warm and warmer than other knitted gloves.

Lastly, silver is antimicrobial.  Making Agloves with silver provides a barrier to public dirt and germs.
